1. Panama on a 2-month mission trip with Teen Mania in 1993.
2. Mexico (5 separate trips) on short term missions. The first was in 1990 (13 years old - when she first felt the call to missions) and the last was in 1996.
3. Jamaica (2 separate trips) on a short term mission trips with the ORU singing group called Frontline. Frontline sang and ministered in churches and Universities and on ORU's television show called "Something Good Tonight."

1. Paris, France. Joel's parents were missionaries to France and spent 1984 in Paris.
2. Wattrelos, France. (On the Belgian border)Joel's parents then spent the next 5 years in Wattrelos.
3. Chile on a short term mission trip with Teen Mania in 1993.
4. Eagle River, Alaska. Joel went there to "become a man" and decided to completely surrender to God on a mountain there.
5. Northern Cameroon and Chad on a 6 week mission trip with ORU Summer Missions. Joel feels a distinct call to Africa.

1. Joel and Heidi both started at ORU in Tulsa, OK in 1994 and stayed after graduation until 2002. Jakob was born at St Francis Hospital in 2001.
2. The summer after we were married, Joel and Heidi took 2 youth from their church on a mission trip to Venezuela with a group called RIM.
3. The Hayslips have made many trips up to Cleveland, OH where Joel's parents and brother live.
4. The Hayslips travel often (but not often enough) to San Francisco. Heidi's parents and sisters live their.
5. Joel's Mamaw, Papaw and Great-Grandma live in Shreveport LA.
6. Washington D.C. area. Rothenbusch (Heidi's maiden name) Family Reunion in 1999.
7. New Albany, Indiana. After we sold our house in May of 2002, we left Tulsa to direct Camp Sonsation in Indiana. We stayed from June to October 2002.
8. October 2002 to Feb 2003 - Lafayette, CO. The Westphals graciously allowed us to stay with them. Loved the snowboarding!
9. Orlando, FL. In November 2002, Rachael (Joel's sister) got married! We of course managed to fit in a trip to Disneyworld. We returned to Jacksonville, Florida in January, 2003 for training with the agency we have joined: Calvary, Intl.
