It’s October, ,and October is a very exciting month for our team, as it is the month we begin preparing for the Give a Kid a Christmas outreaches!

The idea for Give a Kid a Christmas grew out of the enormous needs we see around us each day here in Burkina Faso . There are thousands of families who barely have enough money to provide the most basic care, let alone to buy them a gift. As a team, we felt there was no better time than Christmas to show these children the love of God in a real, tangible way.

Each year we have been able to distribute more and more gifts. In 2004, the year we began, we gave out 30 gifts to our neighbors, and each year since we have been able to do more. This year, we hope to bless over 2000 children with backpacks brimming with gifts! Purchasing, wrapping and distributing the gifts is a lot of work, but seeing the beautiful smiles on these precious children’s faces makes it all worthwhile.

The most important part of the outreach is sharing the love of God. Nearly all of these children are Muslim and have never heard of Jesus! We will present the Gift of Jesus through a Gospel skit with music, props and local actors. This year we believe that over 4000 people will hear the Good News in a way they will be able to relate!

For each of these 2000 Muslim children to receive a very nice gift and hear the Gospel message this December, we are believing God for $20,000. Would you consider making a tax-deductible gift? Together, we will give these children an unforgettable Christmas!
